Paris Haute Couture: Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2012

I always look forward to the Christian Dior haute couture show, because where Karl brings the chic-ness, Galliano always brought the drama. I was sure that since the brand still hasn’t appointed a designer to take over from John Galliano they would flounder this Paris haute couture show… Oh how I was wrong!

The red dress (which was the only bit of colour in a black, white, grey collection) literally stopped my dress. If I could, I would get married in it- it is perhaps one of the most sensational dresses I have seen in a long time. Stunning!

The 1950′s theme – perhaps throwback to Dior’s golden years – was clear. Nipped-in waists, full skirts and Betty Draper-style short hair was carried throughout the show.

There was certainly no drama missing from Christian Dior’s latest show… it was an absolutely beautiful collection!

:( There’s no accounting for some people’s taste! hehe… But I thought they were so classically beautiful mixed with a bit of fantasy, exactly what Haute Couture is supposed to be! xx

  2. The Dior show was gorgeous! I heard that many critics are saying it is too much like early Dior, but I found every piece absolutely stunning.

I think that is what was so beautiful about the collection… Back to where it al started! Which I think considering all the turmoil the brand had this past year, is exactly what it needed! x
