“You can tell a lot from a person’s nails. When a life starts to unravel, they’re among the first to go.” – Ian McEwan

There’s something about getting your nails done when you’re having a bad day that suddenly makes you feel all better. Yesterday- instead of actually eating on my lunch break, I went to get my nails done and fiery red was exactly the colour I needed to perk me up.

For a while now I have been a religious follower of Shellac, considering the fact that I use my hands all day long carrying/wrapping/unpacking paintings with a normal nail polish my nails are disaster hours after I have them done otherwise. Shellac is a life saver for someone like me, it dries instaneously (after curing it in an UV machine) and it lasts roughly about 2 weeks. The only negative about Shellac is that there aren’t many colour choices yet unfortunately.

I have a woman that comes to my house and does it for me, but if she’s not available (which happens all the time!) I head to Nail Spa… They are amazing, and will always try to fit you in even if you don’t have an appointment.

Nail Spa have 3 locations in London, so I’m sure there’s one you can find near you.
